Cannondale Lefty
Does anyone have a mountian bike with a Cannondale lefty fork? How do you like?
I'm thinking of "forking" a little money in the near future to upgrade to a mountain bike, the better. I've been watching with Cannondale Lefty forks, and I wonder what the advantages / Disadvantages are. In addition, special schools are quick release? Thank you!
Leftys are sweet. Very light for the amount of travel, and stiffness excellent torque. It is also very durable and rebuildable. The spare parts available, while most manufacturers of fork (Rock Shox, Manitou, etc.) replacement parts only items for three years. People always think wbr frail, but I've seen a few terrible head in crashes involving wbr, including which broke a frame, without harm to the holder or hub facility. You do not have to take the wheel off to change a tire. Headshok headset bearings and Lefty fork bearings bear better than most the high-end headphones traditional hubs. Disadvantages: Wheel removal involves a 5mm Allen key and play with several bolts (hub and brake disk). For this reason you may want to get a car chassis that does not require removing the front wheel. To fork mount racks are adapters Lefty but still has to go through the process of unbolting. Leftys are disc brakes only. Of course, the framework has to be a Cannondale, or one of the few companies other than is licensed to the steering tube Headshok large. You can get various adapters to put a fork in a traditional framework Headshok. Project 321 has the adapters wbr not to give Cannondale frames, but there are limitations. Overall an impressive fork, Cannondale frames are nice too.
