When are 7-speed Campagnolo Nuovo Record?
I just bought a sweet 80, Pinarello a couple of weeks ago that has a mix of Nuovo Record and Gran Sport components. I am trying to identify the year. There is a serial number, only "Pinarello" stamped on the bottom bracket, not is very helpful. Nuovo Record has a 7 speed rear derailleur. What year was Campy make a 7-speed NR? It is moved by friction only (non-indexed option).
I know not indexed Nuovo Record derailleur had enough range to use 7-speed as early as 1974, perhaps earlier, although most bikes of the time were 5 or 6 speeds. I know Zeus also sold 7 speed free wheel since 1973, and all Criterium and 2000 models have the ability to use for the technology was there. It should be a division in the body diverter number identifying the year of manufacture.
