Bike Chain
The chain is the crucial element of a bicycle – if it breaks, not going anywhere. So proper maintenance is essential.
Of all the components of your bike, chain is the most important. No chain …. no go!
Maintaining proper chain extend the life of your chain – although any chain must be replaced after you've put 1000 miles on it. Do not use a string longer than necessary – if rusted or stretched, it's time for a new chain.
A bicycle chain is made from hundreds of precision parts, consisting of pins, plates and rollers. If you are full of dirt that will negatively impact your experience cycling, and not much good your gear.
The easiest way to take care of the chain is simply to keep it lubricated. Of course – too much of something is a bad thing. You want the chain lubricated, but the lubrication itself attracts sand, so you will not want it too.
If you have traveled by bicycle a muddy path, you'll want to clean it as soon as you return home.
Cleaning a chain
It is very difficult to have the chain bike, but you can if you want. However, in most cases it works only for cleaning, while its still on the bike. Simply degreaser spray (which is available in your local Bikeshop) in the chain, derailleur, gears and ring echain XX. Let the degreaser do its thing for about 20 minutes – then use a cloth or stiff brush to clean dirt. Then, simply hose down. Then dry it. Then lube the chain.
Lubrication
Clean and lubricate the chain before each journey – it's that simple. Lubricants are from various ingredients – no wax-based lubricants and lubricants are not wet. It's a good idea to keep a notebook in which you record that lubricant you use and how long your chain. In this way, you'll see which works best lubricant for your bike and type of driving.
Chain Suck
Have you ever experienced this? This happens when the chain does not remove the bottom of the crown and pull up in place – instead of running directly into the lower rear derailleur. Do not blame it on the carousel – is caused by a worn chain.
Chain wear indicator
The golden rule is to replace a string after you have placed thousands of miles away, but if you do not have an odometer on your bike and do not follow how many miles you travel, what can you do? Simple. Buying an indicator of chain wear, and use it in a week to week. You want to replace the chain as "is out of specification" because if not, that wear the wheels in the drive train and you have to replace, so, as the new chain finally get probably will not fit.
